Pros: Now this is what an origin story is supposed to be. A thoroughly entertaining look in to what makes Bruce Wayne decide to put on the cape and cowl, this is the first comic book movie that deserves not to be called a comic book movie and should viewed as more of a straight up crime-thriller. Bale, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman deserve special mention in the acting department, with the always-dependable Liam Neeson doing fine work in a smaller supporting role.
Cons: Katie Holmes just doesn’t work in this movie. When held up against the other actors, she comes across as amatuerish, playing a character that, quite frankly, could have been played just as well by pretty much any other actress.
