Basic Plot: After capturing the WBC World Heavyweight Championship, Adonis Creed, son of former champion Apollo Creed, faces an unexpected challenger in the form of Russian fighter Viktor Drago, himself the son of the fighter who killed Apollo in the ring 33 years prior.
Rating (Out of 4): 3
Pros: Although I’m probably in the minority here, I actually enjoyed this movie more than its predecessor. The opponent here gets more character development than you’d usually see in this kind of movie, and his motivations are relatable. All of the actors and actresses involved in this movie do some top-notch work, and Stallone again proves that he doesn’t need explosions and non-stop action in order to entertain, turning in a subdued and understated performance as the legendary Rocky Balboa.
Cons: Some may find this a bit too much of a by-the-numbers installment of the Rocky/Creed saga.
