Rating (Out of 4): 2
Pros: It’s always nice to see Ford play one of his most iconic roles, and it’s fun to see Karen Allen return as Marion (although she’s not given much to do). Some of the action scenes fit right in to the Indiana Jones canon.
Cons: Shia LaBeouf. He’s a “flavor-of-the-month” actor who serves no purpose being in such a respected franchise, and should stick to Transformers movies. Not enough action set pieces that capture the spirit of the original trilogy, with a few that stretch the boundaries of disbelief to their breaking point. John Hurt is wasted in a one-note role. The back-and-forth dialogue between Indy and Marion is a bit too hammy at times. This should have been a return to form, but instead feels like a money grab.
